I have 40 years experience in disasters and emergencies and find people do not prepare because they are overwhelmed or frightened to be known as "one of them...those preppers." We are building a site that has a family / neighborhood friendly feel to it, rather than a "the sky is falling" dark look. So far, in tests of the ideas we are working on, I have found women respond much more quickly to the friendly approach/look, and they seem to be the ones motivating the male member of the family to get the work done. Examples of what we've worked with are attached.
