Thanks so much for considering our contest.
We are looking for a Rockstar logo designer / illustrator to make the
logo for TheUncommonDog.com sing.
The UncommonDog.com receives over 1 million visitors per year so this
is a chance to have your work seen widely.
We are currently redesigning our website so the new logo needs to work
SEEMLESSLY with the new theme which you can see here:
And psd of new design is here:
WHEN YOU SUBMIT AN ENTRY PLEASE ALSO SHOW HOW YOUR DESIGN WILL LOOK ON
OUR WEBSITE BY USING THE DESIGN FILE ABOVE.
ALSO NO CLIP ART or STOCK IMAGES PLEASE. THE DOG USED IN THE LOGO
NEEDS TO BE AN ORIGINAL ILLUSTRATION CREATED BY YOU!
We feel this logo redesign begins and ends with taking the dog image
in our logo to a whole other level of detail, energy, expressiveness
and fun! We call the Dog in our logo by the name “Uncommon” and
he’s our brand ambassador. We are planning to include images of
Uncommon and messages from Uncommon throughout our site and in emails
The overall idea is the image of Uncommon will be BURSTING with the
qualities of our Brand which is dog happiness, hip, energetic, fun,
trustworthy and very engaging.
REALLY IMPORTANT POINT HERE - The thing with Uncommon is he's a dog
but he kinda thinks he's a human or at least thinks like a human in
many ways so he needs to show that on his face. He needs to be able to
express complex emotions like joy, disappointment, wonder,
embarrassment, surprise, boredom, pride - I'm not suggesting that you
try to show all these looks / emotions but definitely try a few on
your dog. If your dog can easily express this range of emotion (using
facial expressions and or body language) and it comes through loud and
clear to the viewer what the dog is feeling then they almost certainly
will be on the fast track to becoming THE Uncommon Dog. Thanks!
Also, need to work the business name “The Uncommon Dog” and our
tagline “Only the Best for Your Best Friend” around the new image
Also, I’m totally open to reworking all aspects of the new logo. As
you can see in the link above to the new site design we’ve evolved
the logo some from it’s current state (which you can see on
TheUncommonDog.com) but if you have an idea of how Uncommon can be
integrated into the logo in a more engaging way I’m totally open to
that. His position / expression could be totally different than now
and his positioning in relation to the words in the logo could be
Here’s an example of how one of our competitors does this and I
think they do a pretty good job - http://www.baxterboo.com/
Look forward to seeing your drafts.
