IFS works without boundaries believing that in an increasingly globalized world an attack against one person’s liberty is an attack against everyone’s liberty. IFS provides legal assistance through litigation, arbitration, and mediation for people whose individual rights have been legally violated domestically or abroad. Violations of rights may include but are not limited to: abuses of Constitutional rights, such as freedom of speech, freedom of the press, a right to due process, and freedom of religion. Human rights abuses such as a right to life, freedom from torture, and right to a fair trial are all examples of what IFS defends. In addition to legal remedies IFS performs in the court of public opinion by way of educational opportunities via lectures and seminars on a variety liberty related topics around the world.
In order to defend liberty, IFS must remain independent, to ensure our independence, IFS will not accept government funds, directly or indirectly, or support from any private funder that could compromise our objectivity and independence. We do not embrace political causes, are non-partisan, and encourage people from all walks of life to join us.
