I would like the logo and branding to be simple, grown-up and contemporary (but strong enough to stand the test of time). So whilst being fit for 2015 in the digital age I also want it to feel classic and refined.
In terms of our philosophy, the company is young and fun to work with. We try to love what we do and we ere embedded within our local community. It is probably important to convey that as well as to appeal to our target audience.
Please refer to my examples. In terms of what I like: I think simplicity is key. I like some of the polygonal style designs from the more modern side of things. I also like linotype style simplicity. In terms of injecting colour into a logo, I like the gradient Mesh & subtle linear gradient style as illustrated in the last three logos I have uploaded as examples.
To give you a feel for the business - we are based in characterful premises within a converted church. We are on the coast and our offices faces onto a beach, harbour and lighthouse.
I have design experience but really have struggled to be detached enough from this project to create something that I am happy with. Hence my putting it out to the crowds for some assistance!
I am aware of the pitfalls of on-spec work and I am not in this to rip people off or waste time. If I am able to form a relationship with a designer on the back of this work then that would be a bonus and any future work would be fully specified and paid for.
