The winning logo will be unique, eye-catching and of high recognition value. You are absolutely free on how to achieve that. Simply make sure the logo represents high quality and design.
Regarding the typeface we prefer it to be well balanced and harmonious. Sans serif typefaces are great, script typefaces are great too. We welcome a playful twist on the lettering. Weights from both light to bold are fine, it simply should be in harmony with other design elements (if any).
Regarding colors you are almost free again. Colors like black, grey, blue, green, yellow or combinations /shades thereof are fine. If you choose to use multiple colors make sure they fit well together and do not look cheap. Remember the logo should look good on light backgrounds and have enough contrast. If you decide to group letters with colors make sure they align with syllables co-co-mo-shi (or group of syllables like coco-moshi).
It’s important that the logo has a high recognition value. This might be simpler to achieve by introducing a pictorial mark or a form of any kind. If you decide to use graphical elements make sure they are of high quality using simple and clear shapes. Make sure the graphical forms do not look technical or serious. Playfulness, elegance and warmth are welcome.
If you decide that cocomoshi should be a character, that’s great but again make sure to keep it simple and in harmony with the lettering.
Note that cocomoshi does not mean anything so there’s nothing to communicate from the name alone. Do not focus too much on our business. Focus on high quality and make the logo stand out.
If you walk the streets or surf the Web, what kind of great logo would you expect to find on a site that sells fine design objects and cool gadgets and targets 40+ people that like high quality but are still open minded and playful? That's the kind of logo we want.
We need a vector version of the logo (Illustrator ai or similar) and a layered bitmap (photoshop-psd or similar) version of high resolution.
Note: If on day 7 the logos of multiple designers are on par, we will give the prize to the logo that has been introduced first.
