We want the design to use the letter A in our business name - "Altus " to create a unique free standing mark which also is used as the letter A in the business name.
We like to see a very original/sharp/progressive design.
There should be no reference at all to Golf as a sport - no clubs, no hole, no ball. Also, possibly something that communicates the meaning of Altus-- to foster, grow, elevate, lift, develop. It must represent the letter A in a unique way but also speak to our High Performance ethos and our interdisciplinary/multidimensional way we go about coaching athletes.
- It must be intriguing and modern looking and convey ascent or growth.
While those are our current preferences, we wouldn't want it to limit the creativity of the people who really know wha they are doing. So we are open to exploring new perspectives and alternatives, assuming they meet some of our previously stated criteria.
After seeing so many great designs come in, we are getting a better idea for what we like and don't. The designs we have been most drawn towards are the modern, minimalistic logos that provide some imagery within the A. Some favorites have used the negative space to create the kind of imagery we want to draw out of the logo. Examples are: a mountain (to represent an athlete climbing to the top of their field) or a winding road (to represent an athlete's pathway to development) or even arrows pointing up to demonstrate the meaning of the name (to elevate, grow, and lift). We would love to see more alternatives and creativity like that. And we provided the colors in the questionnaire, but don't be afraid to get creative if you see fit. Thought that may help as we narrow things down.
With just a 9hrs to go and so many great designs submitted, we feel like we have a good idea of how we will narrow down for the next round. Most have done a great job in turning our detailed brief into designs better than we could have imagined. For the last stretch, would be great to see any out of the box ideas. Feel free to depart a bit from our detailed brief and provide your original take on the logo based on the information we provided on our business and overall ethos-- just no golf imagery.
