There is no slogan required, however we are welcome to looking at ideas if designers have a strong need to suggest one. Any inclusions of slogans should not be at the expense of keeping the focus of the café name.

Factory 1 café will be a café that will open for breakfast and lunch 6 days a week – Monday to Saturday. There will be seating for 20 people, and a menu that has freshly cooked meals and ‘choose and go’ options that will be of a higher nutritional quality than standard take away food. The café is not licenced for alcohol and so the café does not intend to be an after work/Friday night drinks location.
The café will be located in a former factory and will reside in an industrial zone within a seaside suburb. The café will be located in close proximity to an abundance of local café's closer to the water and less than 5 minutes’ drive away. So, unlike the regular ‘tourist and retiree’ patrons often seen in the area, Factory 1 cafés target audience will be the employees of the neighbouring factories, car dealerships, mechanics and panel beaters. Due to the workforce type associated with this, there is a strong male representation, which has high density in the 25-34, 35-44 and 45-54 age bands. The logo (and the café itself) will need to project a compelling alternative to getting in the car to obtain lunch by the water. It is important to note however, there is a high amount of vehicles and people coming in and out of the immediate area. We see opportunity for lots of passing drivers to be made aware of the café.
We would like the name Factory 1 Café in the logo. The café name relates to the street address and so for relevance and the primary intended use of signage, we would like to use the numerical expression of the one.

The primary use of the logo is for street signage, and so the logo needs to show a strong and clear brandmark. Our preference is for a landscape configuration to maximise the space used within the signage allocation, but we are open to suggestion based on sound merit. The logo will also be used on menus and may from time to time be on small promotional brochures. Given the target audience and the location setting, we envisage a masculine, monotone or duotone style of logo - but you will see that we are open to any colour suggestions, for the purpose of not limiting your creative thinking!
What we would like to see
- Strong typography
- It would be good to integrate visual/s to emphasise the unique ‘factory’ location – see attached references - but please note if you have alternative ideas, they are more than welcome - we are open to any good ideas! Feel free to wow us with something we may never have thought of ourselves!
- Simplicity and clarity
What we wouldn’t like to see
- Anything with a ‘clip art style’
- Logos that resemble those in the customisable options for restaurants in this website – show us something new!
File Format: The designer will need to agree to provide both JPG and native file formats. Native files will not be outlined.
