This logo is for a pin to be proudly worn by a certified occupational therapist (OT). There are two levels of certification, Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR) and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). We need one design but with the unique language for each gorup (OTR and COTA). Details are in the "other" comment box. NBCOT, the sponsor of this logo design contest, is the credentialing board that manages the OT certification. http://www.nbcot.org
An introduction to OT
Occupational therapy helps patients recover or develop skills needed for the activities of daily living, including self-care, leisure, independent living and work. Therapists work in hospitals, in schools, in nursing homes and with patients in their own homes.
Patients who benefit from occupational therapy, or OT, include people who have had strokes, people with autism and other developmental disorders, people recovering from certain surgeries (including hip replacements), people who suffer from depression or anxiety, as well as veterans and the elderly. OTs are amazing professionals whose work is a gift to society. We want this new logo pin to help display pride in the profession and with their certification.
