My World Kitchen
My World Kitchen will be offering various themed e-cookbooks that are currently in the development stage. Think culinary tourism.
Overview:
Each e-book will comprised of not only recipes, but also background information on the destination theme. Per example, our first product will be about a family feast at the sugar shack in Quebec. The reader will find recipes but also pertinent information about maple syrup and the maple shack activity & tradition in Quebec, Canada. Another product would be about the full breakfast enjoyed on special occasions in Ireland. How about a family meal enjoyed in Shanghai?
As you can see, it’s more than just recipes: it’s about the culture and traditions with tips on how to make them simply & at home, as well as getting spouse and kids interested in something new.
We will offer many different products using various themes or look: the first one is called “Maplelicious” and you can see the theme of it on http://www.myworldkitchen.com for the time being.
This contest is for the main company logo, My World Kitchen, which will be the umbrella over all those products (Maplelicious being one of them).
Target Audience:
Armchair traveler foodies;
Stay-at-home mothers bored with their same-old dinners;
Beginner cooks in need of dinner inspiration;
Curious about ethnic food but scared by its perceived complexity.
I hope the company name brings a few words and ideas to mind and you can use these as inspiration for the logo:
World
Culinary Tourism
New food ideas
Easy to prepare
Simple ingredients, simple techniques
From my kitchen to yours
Requirements:
Simple, without dainty detailing. Comfortable. Not ethnically boxed-in.
It should be professional, without being too corporate. Not girly, not frilly. Not cartoonish. Please do not use any "people" characters or little funny cartoon element.
Although I like the “vintage kitchen” or “scrapbooking” look, this business will be strictly online and encompass a blog, Facebook and Twitter accounts, and therefore wouldn’t want potential clients to associate us with an old-fashioned look.
I do not have a preferred font but typically find serif fonts too serious, too static for our logo. But please feel free to prove me wrong! Be careful not to use a whimsical font.
I saw many logos I liked in the Logo Store; they were mostly showing a globe and/or cutlery. Eventhough I liked them tremendously, none were close to being perfect.
I took the liberty to invite to participle in the contest, designers of logos I liked in the Logo Store section. But please rest assured the contest is open to all.
I will comment on each submission to guide you towards the right path, to the best of my ability. I will also comment publicly as I find it may also provide guidance to other designers; please let me know if you prefer to keep comments on your designs private.
Print file format - .ai (CMYK)
Web file format - .jpg and layered .psd (RGB)
I will ask of the winning submission to also create a matching favicon 16X16.
**Please do not use any stock images or clip art in the logo as I tend to use many in my individual projects.
Please feel free to ask any questions to help you create a fabulous logo!
