There are some important design considerations.
First and foremost it will need four colors, one for each “color” of money: bootstrapping, grants, debt and equity. Each color needs to be compatible with its corresponding type of money, and ideally there should be a story as to why the type of money is a particular color. Black as a fifth color for outlines is ok but not necessary.
Second, the title has a lot of words. I think a fully worded logo is needed but maybe there could be as many as three versions:
1. Four Colors of Money for Entrepreneurs
2. Four Colors of Money
I am open to recommendations by knowledgeable logo and brand professionals.
Third, the colors ought to be integrated into the web design for the blog. So, for example, if equity is the color green, then I’ll want the ability to have all blog entries in the Equity category to have a green background. Thus there is some consideration of how each of the four colors works in the web context. To be clear I will be separately creating a job elsewhere for web design as I think the overlap between logo and web expertise will be relatively small (e.g., I will need X Theme expertise and Category/Tag display expertise for the web design).
Fourth, since many entrepreneurs will use all four colors of money during the course of growing their business, I’d like the design to show some degree of “interweaving.”
Fifth, I will be using the metaphor that there are many “shades” of each type of financing. As one example I am working on an extensive post called “Fifty Shades of Debt.” Therefore the colors need to have some useable shades and I’d like some examples of the shades as supplemental to the logo.
Oh, and I’m mildly red-green color blind so the color choices may need to be modified a touch so I know what I’m looking at.
