http://www.kisii.de is going to be a german blog about fair trade in general and especially about and for the fair trade shops (so called "world shops") in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. There are approx. 800 local stores, who are located mainly in small cities in those 3 countries.
The goal is to professionalise the shops by educating them in terms of sales and marketing know how. The blog is also going to be a place for sharing ideas between the shops.
Most of the people in the shops work there as volunteers. So many of them will use the knowledge of the blog for their "hobby". If we speak of the so called "world shops", we speak of a small niche.
Main target group:
female (suggested 85 %)
age: up from 45, on average 55
works as a volunteer or as an employee for one of the stores in a leading position
Due to the fact, that the branch of industry is very small and less professionalised and the goal of the blog is to support the shops to increase their sales, the logo should transport all that. It should look professional and yet friendly at the same time.
As mentioned below, the logo might contain e.g. a drawn soapstone heart to showcase the relation between the word "kisii" and the products made of soapstone, but it's not a must.
The logo has to implicate forward-looking, modern thinking.
Typical topics of the blog are going to be digitization, combining online-marketing and e-commerce with local commerce and so on.
Background to the word "Kisii":
Kisii is a district in Kenya. From there does all the kenyan soapstone come from. And many fair trade soapstone products are being sold in the fair trade shops like small hearts and smileys (palm stones) or round and squared boxes (see pictures attached).
The name of the domain http://www.kisii.de has been chosen because of it's short length and the relationship to the products sold in the fair trade shops.
So maybe there might be a logo possible with an implied, drawn soapstone heart e.g. But it's not a must because the blog is not about soapstone. It's about sales and marketing. It's goal is to educate the people working in the fair trade shops.
That's why the logo has to look modern, fresh and implicate forward-looking, modern thinking as written above.
The word itself can be written "Kisii" or "kisii" - or maybe even "KISII" in capital letters if it looks nice. Probably it will look best in small letters "kisii" with a fine looking font.
