The new logo should have high contrast for people with poor vision. The old logo has been included in this briefing but should not be used as a starting point. You notice we used green over the years as spot colour, and we would like to use green in the new logo. (The world symbol and other abstract symbol do not have to be used in the new logo.) Choose a shade of green that is modern and fits possible other colours of the logo. We think the name “Kooij Optiek Hoortoestellen” should be printed using dark colours (on white background). Consider the need for a high contrast. A logo that can be used on both white as black background would be a big advantage.
Pictoral / Abstract mark
Both are a possibility. If you are able to create a pictoral mark for both optometric services and hearing aid service in some way, we appreciate that. However don't make it too obvious. Combining an ear and an eye will not do. A more abstract approach is what we are looking for. For example hearing is often represented as waves, or a drip falling in the water. Combining both services in a logo is the biggest challenge here! If this is not working out, suggest a abstract mark.
Choose a special font (rather not a standard, web-safe font) for the name carefully and remember that it should appeal to the customers we target.
“Kooij Optiek Hoortoestellen” is a long name. Try to consider the logo should not be too wide compared to the height. (Current logo is rather stretched)
We will try to give comprehensive feedback quickly, so you know you are heading in the right direction.
