index is a group of companies covering various areas. This is why we are looking for a design for a logo family. The basic logo includes the word “index”. The logos for the individual areas consist of two word components: the word “index” and the word for the respective area. The plan is for the following specific variants: index index AnzeigenDaten respectively index AdvertsData index HR-Marketing index Research index Software index Agentur or index Public Relations The draft logo should be developed using the example of the basic logo (just “index”) and the area “index AnzeigenDaten” – these two variants should thus be shown. However, the logo must of course work for all areas and/or word combinations.

index provides a broad spectrum of services in the B2B area. One focus lies in the human resources sector. Thanks to our most important service, index AdvertsData, we are the European market leader in the recording and analysis of job adverts: we collect job adverts in print and online media in eleven European countries and make these available in a web-based database. Customers in this area are publishing houses, job sites and employment agencies, who use our online service to support sales and for market analysis (more information on this can be found at http://www.advertsdata.com).
Furthermore, we also offer market research, surveys and studies on the staffing market, web-based company software, as well as consultancy and support in personnel marketing. Another focus lies in PR and advertising, particularly for IT companies and customers in the public sector (more information on this can be found at http://www.index.de/sprachen/english/).
The index group as a whole has a close connection with Internet technologies and online communication – accordingly, the logo should also convey a sense of modernity and online affinity. Our target groups are the management of publishing houses, large job sites (e.g. Monster, StepStone, etc.), employment agencies (e.g. Manpower, Adecco, etc.), IT companies and the public sector.
We see ourselves as an equal partner, which helps the customer in different ways to be more successful in the respective market.

index has been in existence for twenty years. The logo used until now is equally old and just shows the word “index”. The aim of the new logo family is to show and to underline that the individual areas belong to the index group. At the same time, the new logo should form the basis for a more modern, fresh, corporate design that can be implemented on the web, in presentations, flyers and brochures, and of course on business cards and headed paper – it must therefore be able to be used flexibly.
The new logo should be a strong and clear development of the previous logo. In this, the word element “index” should be heavily stressed; when interacting with the other word elements (e.g. “AdvertsData”), the focus should clearly be on “index”. The orange-coloured bar characteristic of the previous logo should be retained as a graphic element; however, it can be heavily modified, placed elsewhere or completely redesigned. The graphic grid used in the previous logo symbolised the subject of “networking”. A grid element can continue to be used, but this is not essential. If a grid element is used, it should clearly have a more modern design than previously. The cursive script used in the previous logo should no longer be used – otherwise there are no specifications for the typography.
