Grails4Notes combines the best of two different worlds in programming and databases: IBM Lotus Notes and Grails.
If you do a Google search for "images of IBM Notes logo" and separately "images of Grails logo" you can see some of the branding around.
We obviously want to have our own unique look and do not want anything that copies or combines these two logos.
Our website is not done but you can see it here:
We have temporarily thrown a logo which will NOT be kept or sized anywhere near what you may see on the page (I have asked the developer to remove it so you may not see it by the time you read this).
The developer also took liberty with the font for the name. I am open to suggestions on both. From a "feel" perspective we want to convey:
* unity between vastly different worlds (non-relational and relational)
* happiness that one no longer has to decide between two very different technologies, and can now have the best of both worlds
* a sense of freedom that the user is more enabled than ever to chase their dreams for development instead of being confined to one technology
* relief that some basic needs have finally been addressed instead of always chasing the latest trend... so a sense of stability.
The night background image on the homepage I do like, and would ideally like a logo that fits this theme of something special happening...
Please be sure to check the http://tess2.uspto.gov to make sure logos you draft up are not already trademarked.
Finally, please note that I will need "favicon" versions of the logos WITH your submission so I can see what the logo will look like when rendered in a browser URL bar. It does not need to be the same logo necessarily, but there should be some favicon submission with each full size logo submission.
