We're looking for a logo that will be fresh and modern. We have an existing group of constituents that are a bit older, but we really want to encourage participation by younger audiences. One of the challenges will be to create something that will attract a younger generation without alienating our existing base.
While we are not adverse to including a six-pointed star, what makes us unique is that we are the only Jewish museum/historical society in Washington. Imagery and colors that give a nod to our Pacific Northwest heritage will definitely make you stand out from the competition. Think mountains, trees, the outline of Washington State, etc. (Note that it should not be Seattle-centric - we represent the entire state).
If you take a look around at other Jewish organizations, you'll notice that there is a lot of repetition - blue stars, traditional fonts, lots of square angles. We want to stand out from the crowd.
The beta website is available at washingtonjewishmuseum.org. That will be the permanent URL as well.
We're looking for the museum logo at this time. If this experience goes well, we're hoping to find someone to work with on a new logo for the organization and perhaps other opportunities for future partnerships.
Thanks for looking! Feel free to reach out and ask questions - I want this to be an easy process on your end too!
