Please see below our working logo. This is by no means a guide as to what we are looking for and we are really liking some of the different ideas as well as seeing some elements that we had used for our working logo. We didn't want to upload these at first and influence designers' creativity and although we still want to see innovative designs come through we thought these designs may spur on some follow-on ideas.
We are realizing that the logo may look substantially different with some designs with the end of the website address attached, for advertising. We have .gg (the launch market) and .je. Come the finals we would like to see the logos work in this way too, but feel free to play with this element now.
We are seeing quite a few logos which seem to be using rock in terms of "rocking out" or "rock and roll". Although we may use this as a play with words with marketing material that isn't the reason for the word rock in the name.
The launch market is Guernsey, Channel Islands. It is a small island in the English Channel and so generally referred to as "the rock".
We are a website to show local deals. We are local to the island and advocate saving money and buying local and so want our logo to reference this if possible.
We are finding that the silhouettes of a frog are sometimes looking too busy and not clear and defined enough particularly when viewed on a small size. I think this is as there are so many fingers (if that's the right word) of all the frogs feet.
We are looking for clean, modern and simple so if using a frog then just one foot print or a line drawing from an angle with less fingers visible may work better for us.
Thank you everyone for your designs - it was a hard job to cut it down from so many, and congratulations to our finalists.
At this stage, we would be interested to see how you would incorporate ".gg" and a tag line into your designs.
We will give you individual feedback on the designs we have selected for the final stage.
Our method for deciding on the best logo is to imagine it on various media and advertising types, such as business cards, stationery, T-shirts, etc. and to imagine using the logo at a launch event for the business.
