The International Herb Symposium is deeply rooted in sharing the wisdom of the traditions of herbal/plant medicine in application to the modern world. The original illustration that has been used as a logo has served the event well and is highly recognizable within the herbalist community. The event organizers are looking to be sure they honor the history and recognition of the illustration while updating the logo so that it offers a more modern and updated look and feel for those new to the world of traditional herbal healing.
I've uploaded the existing logo. The organizers of the event very much like the depiction of the mortar and pestle integrated with the world and do like the medicinal plant being integrated as well. The plant depicted could be a well known medicinal (as Echinacea in the original logo) or it could be just a representative of a plant without specific recognition. Traditionally purple is a color that healers connect to, and it is a color that has been used for this event, but the organizers are willing to consider an expanded/or adjusted color palette if there are intentional reasons.
