Ghana is growing at a formidable pace, and with it being 2 hours closer to Europe by air then East Africa, vast access to water via one of the largest water reservoirs in the world (Lake Volta), it is an attractive country to grow perishables.
We provide a facility that has the ability to store and keep these perishable goods cool until the aircraft is ready to take them. Since over 80% of exports out of Ghana are perishable, this facility is very important for the future of the perishable exports.
This facility looks to take advantage of these qualities, and improves the cooling chain. This gives the Ghanaian farmers a more competitive product, as well as encouraging large growers such as Veg Pro, (Largest producer and exporter of perishables out of Kenya) to come to Ghana and invest in large scale farming. They have recently acquired 1000 hectares of land by the Lake Volta, and the perishable facility was paramount for this.
