This (new) bar is in a completely new market for duelling pianos, and so we do want to communicate the idea in the name. However, "duelling pianos" doesn't have to be the name - if you can be creative in the name aswell as the logo, then that's a great help.
Whilst we want to create a really fun atmosphere, it's an over-18 only establishment, so can't be targeted at children. Also, there will be a premium on the drinks (to be able to pay for the pianists), so we don't want a cheap and cheerful place - fun, inclusive but a bit cool would be perfect.
Also, it's basement bar, so obviously dark; perhaps pinks, reds, burgundys would work well? But I'm not a designer....
No slogan as yet.
Hi all, after seeing the first couple of designs I thought about what I want to convey a bit more, hope this helps:
I was brainstorming what I wanted the atmosphere in the bar to be. The three main strands were:
High energy! The pianists are going to be giving their all, the sound will be turned up, the punters should be belting out the songs! All should give a real rush to the punters when they're on the dancefloor.
Enthusiasm - this will be new to many people, we just want the punters to get involved, try something new and do it with a smile on their face, and have a very positive outlook towards it.
Inclusive - this isn't going to be a bar where we turn people away for having on the wrong shoes, or being a big group, or being too old. If you've got the enthusiasm, we welcome you. We'd like it to be a bit like a wedding - if you're 24 and you end up talking to 50 year old Auntie Bettie on the table next to you then fantastic. If you're enthusiastic, then you're a friend of ours, and if you're a friend of ours, then you're a friend of everyone else in the room.
Hope that helps, thanks.
PPS - where I come from, "Deulling" has two 'l's....!
