It is known as the traditional and most complete bookstore in the country; however, in the past few years it has grown nationwide and now it is in the malls of the major cities in the country. The layout, design, look and feel of the new stores is very modern. We have an online store and are about to launch digital book sales. We have recently diversified our product mix, including educational toys, stationary, music, movies, electronics and other entertainment and content related products. Our brand is very strong in the country and our logo has very high recognition. I have attached the traditional logo (black and red letters over white). Recently we have played alternating the colors, refreshing our image a little (white letters over red).
Right now we are about to open new stores in the main airports of the country and would like a new and modern look for them. The main problem with our logo is its shape, it is hard to place it on rectangular signs with not much height. I have attached a picture of how most of the signs in the airport stores should be like, where you will see that our traditional logo will simply not fit.
As this is a new line of business, focused particularly on airports, and adding to the company name the words “Travel Shop” should allow us to have a completely different logo design and image than all the signs in our traditional stores. If we like it enough and works well, we might even apply it to the whole chain in the future.
We are trying to transmit a refreshing and modern design while at the same time keeping it simple and neat.
