Our brand is based around a playful stereotypical cowboy character named Slim Social. He spends times herding cats into a corral. Each cat represents a different social media entity and are identified by the platform they represent on an ID tag attached to their collar. (e.g. Facebook logo, Twitter logo, etc).
In our original concept we had imagined the entire brand to look like a 1950's era paper doll collection where the characters and logo look like paper dolls placed in a shadowbox scene. So there would be a strong white outline around the characters and logo and heavy drop shadows, but we are open to other ideas.
We had thought the logo should be more iconic in nature - something inline with other social media icons. Perhaps it could be a piece of fence, or a lasso, etc. Something that is easily identifiable in a small logo as well as a large piece.
If there is a way to incorporate the character design into the logo as well, we would be thrilled with that, but it may be too complex for where we are steering in this design.
Color wise we would love to stay with a very western / desert / vintage color pallet. I've attached an image that is in line color wise and somewhat stylistically with our intention for the cowboy character. The exception to the style being that we are looking for a more exaggerated look in the characters proportions. (e.g. super long and skinny legs, large hat, big, head, etc. Think Woody from Toy Story or a marionette).
We want the logo to reflect that feel, even if it doesn't incorporate the cowboy character or the cats.
Thanks for bringing your creativity to the table, we're super excited to see the ideas!
