Logo is for a new website that sells primarily collectible, used and old new stock of vinyl records (including 45's, i.e., small record, big hole) plus CDs, original concert posters and books about music. The records will be the main focus, but eventually this site will sell hard-to-find Legos and Bionicles, in the form of complete collectible sets and rare parts. Site will incorporate a blog called "Adventures of a Record Store Owner," to flavor our online presence with stories and pictures going back 50 years in the business, and to help with SEO.
The thought behind 22tango is exactly that: "Two To Tango" in that we provide personalized service, rather than selling mass quantities of product. You cannot call a factory and order up a quantity of old records. So, we envision a sort of peer to peer approach to our company that might be reflected in our logo. The idea is that each transaction is between the customer and us, or you and me, a real human being.
The same personalized service will be evident when we start selling other products such as older electronics (amps, tube/valve audio, test equipment, etc.) cameras, post card collection, scissor collection, harmonicas, etc, etc.
The URL 22tango.com was inspired when listening to Astor Piazzolla, the great Argentinian tango composer and musician.
Foremost, this is about the music, a retail or online record store is all about the merchandise, I used to tell the people who worked for me, "that we are our merchandise" that is ultimately how we are perceived and judged and is the basis of our success.
My personal sensibility is to be at the cutting edge of Web3.0 design and I really like the type face created for the Tesla Motorcar, but I am conflicted between going for modern logo vs. retro logo, so here are some sample vinyl record company emblem type logos: http://www.enjoythemusic.com/vinyllogo/
