The web show will be a 15-20 minute weekly show focusing on Japanese car culture. That is, my co-presenter and I will present all aspects of Japanese car culture to an international audience via the web. And above all, I want it to be fun to watch, so I have gone for a slightly obscure title that uses an internationally known Japanese word - WASABI - which means spicy, hot and green (ie, environmental) while the Italian word VELOCE refers to speed, and is obviously the derivative of velocity. The font used for Wasabi should relay the strong "Japanese-ness" about the show, while Veloce can just represent speed. It'd be good if the logo could in some way represent the two main themes of the show which will be futuristic automotive technologies such as hybrids and electric cars (through the green wasabi font), as well as speed, through the red veloce font, which will including motor racing and test driving exciting new cars. So I want the show to have content that is spicy, hot (as in new), 'green', fun and fast. What I am saying is that the show will contain something different each week, sometimes really wacky stuff. Ideally, I'd like the show (and the logo) to be a toned-down version of Britain's Top Gear, mixed with a touch of Japan's quirky anime/manga culture and a hint of Japan's unique take on cars - like drifting. Or at least that's the aim. We plan to do this show in both English and Japanese, so it'd be great if the logo appealed to a global audience.
I just had another thought. What about if we were to lay a large stylized version of Mt Fuji underneath the logo with a road coming down the mountain and a stylized version of a car speeding down the road? I am thinking of using a 1967 model Mazda Cosmo Sport as my theme car for the show, so a semi-front-on (stylized) view of that car might work well. Please check out this photo for inspiration. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:M…_sport.jpg
And finally, all I'd like to say is that the above description is just one possible result. If you can come up with any other great ideas that fit the brief and capture the essence of this uniquely Japanese car show at the same time, then I'd love to see them.
Also, several of you have stuck the Wasabi and the Veloce together on the same line. What would it look like if the Wasabi was on top of Veloce? If possible, please try both.
Many thanks for your efforts! Good luck!
