Brand & business: Our main customers are state and local governments. We manage roadways, bridges, utilities, etc. for them. One idea I had is for the logo to incorporate a visual representation of "technology" and "software design." However, I am open to many different design options.
Target audience: Professionals at state and local government agencies. We do not work with the general public, so I'm not looking for a design that will appeal to a general audience.
Values I'd like communicated in the design: Technology, transportation (highways, bridges, transit and the overall built environment), organization, a sense of strength and/or design (engineering). We help state and government agencies make better decisions about where to allocate their money. Our slogan is "Infrastructure Asset Management & Engineering." I expect this might not fit as part of a logo, but if you can make it work, go for it!
Stylistic preferences: We want our prospective clients to look at the logo and remember us. Nothing overly fancy or flowery.
Colors: No particular color scheme but I'd like the logo to show up well when photocopies are made on a black and white photocopier.
Other: If your design is selected, I may request some business cards and letterhead designs. I need the winner to supply me with the following formats: an EPS vector file a vectorized PDF file, a 300 pixel TIFF 4000 pixels wide (on x or y axis, either one), and a vectorized Adobe Illustrator AI file.
