"Journey' is a young men's ministry catering to guys between 18 and 24 who have had no Father in their lives or an absent father. This Ministry will use the outdoors as a vehicle for building relationships and mentoring these young guys, teaching them 'authentic manhood', not the sellout manhood we see nowadays with grown men addicted to video games and abandoning families so they can drink with their buddies. This ministry will be almost like 'Outward Bound', if you have ever heard of that, just a different target audience. Backpacking, camping, fishing, rafting, caving, and other adventure sports will be used to build relationships as well as teach confidence, self-reliance as well as reliance on their 'band of brothers'. The ultimate goal is to get them to see life like a Journey, not a destination. We don't have to put pressure on ourselves to 'get there'. We just need to learn from all the life experiences we have (including emotional and physical abuse from a father), pushing beyond ourselves. Reaching the summit of a mountain is the destination, but the personal growth happens on the hike to the top...

We are shooting for an outdoorsy themed logo targeted at a younger all-male audience. Nothing overly busy. Clean lines. Colors are not really important, but earthy tones would work well. I have attached some concepts I saw for other similar organizations or stock logos to give and idea. Dont let these hem in your thinking. The bootprint one really is eyecatching.
