Pheli Mint is an exciting new private mint from Canada. It is the passion and idea of two best friends and avid coin collectors and silver investors.
We first fell in love with the coins available from the Royal Canadian Mint, but recently have been leaning toward some of the privately minted or sovereign silver bullion. We love many of the designs and series currently being offered by private mints and are getting discouraged by the premiums on coins from the RCM. We feel that there is an opportunity to continue to add high quality, limited mintage private silver bullion to help fill this current gap.
Our slogan also adds a bit deeper meaning to what are company will also strive to represent, we want to have a commitment from the start to always keep a portion of any profits for charitable donations and activities. Cultivating also represents Phil's nurturing and work ethics, while altruism represents Eli's caring and giving nature.

Diseño de inspiración
Currently our idea is to make a logo that resembles a coat of arms/family crest.
We have four elements that we want incorporated;
A maple leaf
A dream catcher, eagle feather with a medical staff (image provided)
Three penguins, an adult with two children and the adult is holding a shovel.
A wolf holding a plumeria (flower) in its mouth.
Our original plan was to have the background be the maple leaf with the staff and animals inside of that arranged as a crest/coat of arms, however designers may use there creative judgement to come up with a different was to display these elements.
Somewhere we also want our name "Pheli Mint", and our slogan "cultivating altruism"
This logo will be used to create the obverse of our silver coins.
Below is a bit more information into why our elements where chosen.
The Pheli mint logo was designed to include images that are important and have meaning to us. The maple leaf to signify Canada and the pride we have in being Canadians all the opportunity that offers. The medical staff and eagle feather element was designed by a first nation’s artist that is a close friend of ours as we used to work at a nursing station in remote first nation communities when we developed our friendship. The animals on each side of the medical staff are chosen by Phil and Eli to further represent each of them and what they hold dear. Phil chose the penguins to represent him and his children. The penguin was chosen for it's nurturing qualities and the fact that male penguins hatch the eggs and do much of child rearing which is what Phil prides himself most in. The shovel represents Phil's passion for trying to live off the land in a sustainable manner and his growing of a small hobby farm and rural lifestyle.
Eli chose the wolf to represent himself as a new beginning from personal struggle. The wolf represents power and determination to overcome life challenges. The plumeria was added to represent a family history of greenhouse nurseries and a personal passion of horticulture.
