About Me: My name is Rosie Shields and I am the founder of Nestful Mind. I am currently a senior at Wake Forest University pursuing a degree in psychology and entrepreneurship. The love between a father and daughter knows no distance. My father, my best friend is struggling with dementia. He no longer knows the year or my age. He made me into the woman I am today, so now it is my turn to give back and help him. This is why I started Nestful Mind. I want to help individuals who suffer from dementia, along with their families. About my Company: My company is a monthly subscription box service for both dementia patients and caregivers. Dementia patients are losing, not using their minds, as they are struggling to stay cognitively active. My subscription box include activities to keep dementia patients' mind sharp including conversation starters, large print word searches, large print crossword puzzles, coloring books, colored pencils, etc. It includes resources and tips for caregivers including books and physician tips of the month to help guide them, since 100% of the caregivers I spoke to felt they did not have adequate resources. Each month a new array of activities and resources will be delivered to support both the patient's and caregiver's needs. It is the perfect way for a caregiver/ family member to bond and work together with their loved one with dementia. I am planning on also making an online social forum component where individuals can ask questions and share their experiences as a caregiver, acting as a communal resource group. Significance of the name "Nestful Mind": Similar to "Restful Mind", the product is all about love, family, and providing care to your loved one with dementia since there is no cure for dementia and no way to improve memory. Just as a nest protects and cares for an egg, families strive to care for their loved ones with dementia, and the way to do so is through this box. At Nestful Mind we believe in caring for our loved ones and creating spaces for our loved ones that are relaxing and engaging. Target Audience: Dementia Caregivers / Family Members, Ages ~40-65 years old, buying the product for their parents or spouses with dementia What I am looking for: I would like a creative, unique logo that on one hand evokes care/ love/ comfort/stability while at the same evoking attention to the brain / cognition. A creative way to combine feelings of comfort and care with the brain, as this is a service all about love, family, comfort, and care.
