The South to South Lab is an innovation centre working towards a world in which open, effective and participatory governance is the norm and not the exception. The South to South Lab is about seizing this moment to advance our commitments to promote transparency, fight corruption, empower citizens, and harness the power of new technologies to make governments more effective and accountable. We are open to how we define technology - for our purposes it can be anything from a community bulletin board, all the way through to radio or smart phone apps.
A key difference between this Lab and many others is that it seeks to share knowledge and experience between innovation centres across the developing world, rather than promoting skills and technology exchange from the global north.
Our key audiences are cutting edge innovators who live on the edge, as well as traditional government officials and civil society organisations and concerned citizens. We need a logo that speaks across cultures and customs.
South to South is a term historically used by policymakers and academics to describe the exchange of resources, technology, and knowledge between countries of the global South.
