Hey there awesome Designers!
First, understand that I don't write perfect English, it's not my first language, so I might articulate sentences in the wrong way or give a couple of mistakes.
I am starting a business with my husband which is called Drag Taste.
Drag Taste is a unique cooking experience hosted by 2 drag queens: Teresa Al Dente (me) and Irina Ganache (my husband).
This is a very fun experience where guests that book the activity will come to our stylish home in Lisbon, Portugal, and have a full cooking class, hosted by, me, a Chef dressed up as a gorgeous woman in drag. While some of the guests are wearing funny aprons and learning about the recipes, hands-on, some are getting makeup and being professionally transformed into drag queens as well, by my husband. This full experience ends up in an awesome dinner where we enjoy our food creations all in drag, enjoying awesome music and wine. It's mainly an experience activity for tourists that visit my city but will be as well for locals that have a birthday party or an event.
If you ask me about the audience, the target market basically is first LGBT people, followed by Foodies and Cooking enthusiasts, and of course Drag Queen fans. Both man and women will be part of the target market and I imagine that the main age will be between 25-39, followed by 45-65. Although this is an experience that can be booked not by lgbt, foodies or drag fans, but just a group of friends in holidays that really want to eat well and have lots of fun.
I am doing all our social media accounts now and finalizing the website structure myself. What I am missing now is THE logo, but as well a branding guidelines book and some design work, although it is not mandatory to come everything from the same artist. My main focus now is a unique LOGO! And this is why I am posting this info here for you. Although if you think you can help me making some design work for the brand after me picking you, tell me about that so I can stop searching for the right artistic partner. (future works may include: website design, fun icons, social media, video edit, and more)
Getting back to the logo, I already thought about some cool ideas that I had in mind, but I would like to see new ones from you. Of course, you can try to design what I am telling you next. So, I'm going to tell you about my ideas, but keep in mind that I don't love them, and I don't want to contaminate your brain or design ideas, but this was just something I thought off.
Ideas I had were something as an object half Knife half Lipstick, the kitchen knife blade followed by the lipstick "handle", for example. Or a Fork with 1 or 3 lipstick points being forked up. A Chefs hat with a glamorous (drag queen) style with some eyelashes and big lips as the face beneath it. Or in case of a typography logo, the DRAG word could have a G letter ending with a liptstick/blush shape and the TASTE word with the letter T with 2 brushes or lipsticks, or any famous makeup items with a wig on top of the letter A, for example.
It's important that this logo is easily understood on social media profile icons as I will be promoting the brand online, mostly.
Both the logo and lettering are important for me. But it could be as well a properly done typography logo. Playing with the most 2 important aspects of the business: FOOD and DRAG QUEENS. Or if you want more tags to brainstorm: Cooking, Chefs, Cook, Cooking Class, Food, Knives, Aprons, Cutting Boards, Forks AND Blushes, Wigs, Brushes, Lipsticks, etc...
Although I would really like to have a cool logo to use, or an icon, in case the typography ideas don't work at best.
I hope I didn't confuse you with my description but I did my best to describe what we are doing and what we have in mind. Bottom line it must be Fun, Modern, Crazy, Easy to Read, Catchy and Fabulous! Always with the Foodie and Drag touch on it. They are indeed the perfect recipe for a unique night!
In case it helps, the 2 slogans I have in mind, for now, are: Eat. Makeup. Repeat AND Be the Queen of the Kitchen
If you thought about a cool one, just hit me up with it :D
Thanks so much
