I do a few things:
> 1. General consulting with a focus on making business processes more efficient
I guide businesses out of their "ad hoc", time-sucking approach and help them to build systems that free up resources to be put to use elsewhere. I also work with them on strategy, marketing, operations... you name it! This is where I get to scratch my problem-solving itch.
This is the newest part of my business.
Typical customers: start up companies, older companies that haven't updated their practices in a while
> 2. Training/education consulting
I help make training programs better. Here the focus is around employee education and skilling up. I use eLearning tools, psychology, and systems building to create more human, engaging, and effective learning programs that appeal to adult learners.
Typical customers: companies looking for new employee orientation/training, companies creating training programs for their end users (so they can use their product successfully!), companies wanting to build training for existing employees to skill up, or just companies looking to stop training using PowerPoint and manuals
> 3. Personal development coaching/consulting
This is the area of the business that focuses on individuals. I help them take action on goals and aspirations, especially when it comes to great business ideas that don't find life because of fear or lack of direction. I also focus on other aspects of life (diet, nutrition, mental health, fitness, interpersonal relationships) etc. It can get a little life-coachy for sure!
Even in this part of the business, I still focus on efficiency and building systems so the individual isn't wasting time chasing their tail, can measure their success, and stay on track. It's all about small, measurable moves towards evolution.
