Hello designers! Logos using a cross or the letter “G” are discourages unless you have something really unique to share. We’ve had plenty of good ones. Stretch yourself to create something that stands out!

Grace Community Church is a body of believers that pursue Christ, engage each other, and impact the world. We're a large church located between DC and Baltimore looking to rebrand. We're looking for a mark that can represent and support us into the future. We'd welcome a modern concept based on our existing logo, or a new idea altogether.

Unfortunately, "Grace" is an extremely common name for a church and there are no images that are quickly associated with it! Any and all ideas are welcome. Abstract concepts that we can build a narrative around are preferred. Using literal imagery like a cross can be done well, but is more difficult without coming across cliche. We're looking for a mark that can stand alone (apart from the text), that is simple and looks great flat.

Attached is a ZIP file containing a questionnaire that we have recently provided to another logo designer, some preferred style examples of other church logos, as well as our current logo.
