We are a creative start-up business launching a networking and personal development service for people leaders in global organisations. It will use peer learning and content curation to both challenge and support people who have leadership roles in business. It is aimed at both director level (HR directors in particular but also other people directors such as MD, marketing director etc) plus there is an offer for future leaders (Gen Y etc). The strapline for the service is 'For people leaders across the world' (not in logo).

We are after a strong, modern logo that can be used on the core website which will provide journalistic content, plus a social networking platform. The offer will also be delivered through live events. The words 'People Space' are more important than 'The' (though that is the business name so needs to be in the logo). We would also like an icon version of the logo that just uses the PS. So the website logo and company identity will be The People Space but parts of the website will use the 'PS' icon. For example, if you look at FastCompany's website you will see the overall FastCompany identity then Co-exist, Co-create etc https://www.fastcodesign.com This is the type of approach we have, with the identity to be used as PS social, PS events etc.
We would like a modern font (e.g. TechCrunch, BBC etc) but nothing too 'out there'. This is for a business community but needs to communicate that the network is for forward looking people of all ages who believe strongly in the power of people (as in employees) to give their talents to help push forward business in a profitable, agile, collaborative and socially responsible way. It will also be aimed at leaders across the world, so needs to work globally. Definitely avoid business cliches! The logo will need to work with potential brand spin offs so needs to be adaptable. We like strong colours like black and red, however these tend to be popular in the HR media so perhaps not these two colours together. Not so keen on blues or greys but would like something energetic, dynamic and bright. Once the overall logo is firmed up we are interested in other work for the business.
