A diverse private practice specializing in clinical, forensic and organization psychology. The clinical psychology aspects of the practice focus on supporting children, youth and adults with mental health issues, severe behavioural challenges and trauma. Therapy, assessment and team consultation to professionals in support of others form the work specifics (audience mental health professionals, educators and community teams). Forensic psychology is largely training and consulting professionals responsible for people who have engaged in criminal behaviour and/or endured trauma (audience police, polygraph examiners, mental health professionals). Organization psychology largely focuses on consulting and training companies and managers that support employees who may have endured or perpetrated severe conflict, violence or abuse. (audience large corporations, industrial / trade settings, schools and mental health programs). A considerable portion of the organization psychology work also focuses on self care, compassion fatigue enriching systemic models of change and leadership direction.
There were no clear options to describe my industry. The diversity of the practice is vast...work can range from inspiring corporate teams to be leaders, how to teach self care and how to constructively contend with conflict resolution; to treating and consulting with education / mental health programs for children with autism; to training and consulting police and polygraph examiners how to interview sexual predators and consulting on active criminal cases either to understand criminal behaviour or to support those who have been traumatized. In all areas the organization (audience) has exhausted all their resources and has now hired this practice, DC Waterstone Services, to provide insight, understanding and direction.
