For new submissions, please try to create something that's more original than piggybacking on the designs I've rated with 3 stars. I encourage you, the expert, to suggest alternatives based on your knowledge of logo best practices. I do like the current designs that I've assigned 3 stars to but would like to see different ideas.
While open to color combos of any sort, I'd like the logo to transfer well to black and white for product packaging purposes. I'm also open to a vintage black/white/gray style logo.
My ideal logo captures the spirit of the driveway detailer - someone working in their driveway to clean their car. In my mind, the perfect logo is circular with the name Driveway Detailer on top, Since 1988 on the bottom, with a dog holding a waterhose in it's mouth while a Dad and a child wash car or truck. This may be too busy so again I'm open to creative ideas/interpretations on what this logo should look like.
Other elements that symbolize our core values would be a wet wash mitt, a bucket with suds coming over the side, a shiny car or truck from the 50's (after being washed). See images.
I would encourage you to look to Norman Rockwell paintings for inspiration. This blog post also does a great job of summarizing the look I'm looking for - http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/201…-that.html
I'd also ask that you draw inspiration from vintage gas pumps, oil cans and other automobile signage from the 40's and 50's.
Other ideas could be a child washing his vintage pedal car (see image).
Hopefully this helps frame in what I'm looking for but I do want to stress that YOU, the designer, are the expert and I'm very excited to see what you create!
