[Our Product] Friendsource is a free Facebook-integrated mobile and web application that gives you a simple and organized way to ask your friends for service provider referrals. Build and share your list of preferred providers and contact providers anonymously online. As your network grows you have instant access to service providers you can trust. [Target Audience] The app is general purpose, but we think the primary audience is decision-makers in a family home who are researching and scheduling doctors, home upkeep services, family care, pet care. Based on our Facebook fan stats, 25-55 year old mothers. 76% of our fans are women in that demographic. Since our app can be marketed for use by any demographic for any subset of service categories that are relevant to that demographic, the logo should be friendly and engaging to women, but not overtly feminine in a way that could deter other demographics. [Target Vibe] trustworthy information, crisp interface, 'cool', useful, simple [Industry] We are competing in the consumer-services space against companies like - Angie's List - RedBeacon - HomeAdvisor - SupportLocal - TaskRabbit - Thumbtack We distinguish ourselves from these lead-referral businesses by offering both the consumer and the provider distinct advantages: first (and this is the primary drive/functionality behind our brand) the consumer isn't reading reviews written by strangers... they're collecting referrals from people in the Facebook friend list... 'friend-sourcing'... which means the information they get back is already much more highly trusted than anything they could get elsewhere. Second, the consumer doesn't have to give up their contact information in order to discuss their needs with a referred provider. The provider gets a 'warm lead', and the ability to message the consumer (without learning their identity) to try to get the job. They already have a foot in the door because their referral by the consumers friend lends them credibility and if they handle themselves professionally they have a good chance of getting the work. We built this model acknowledging that in many cases the first thing we do when we want to hire someone is ask a friend for a referral. [Values] The basis of our brand is that you are getting trustworthy information from people you already know and trust. We cement and strengthen existing communities by showing socially-relevant providers to people and broadening market access for the most reliable and trustworthy providers in that social circle. We're building that aspect from the ground up, on top of the existing product - from logo to iconography to app page layout/design etc. We want a brand/theme that's cohesive with our product goals. - The logo needs to be meaningful/compatible within the context of the following user experiences: Desktop Browser (website), Facebook app, iPhone app, Android app, Windows Phone app, Facebook Fan Page, Facebook Desktop Advertisements, Facebook Mobile Advertisements - The product in it's current form can be used with any Facebook account by visiting http://www.friendsource.com or http://apps.facebook.com/friendsourceapp - Screenshots for the product can be viewed at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.friendsource.app.mobile https://www.facebook.com/appcenter/friendsourceapp https://itunes.apple.com/US/app/id728985829[BRIEF UPDATE] common iconography involves a 'finder' or a 'search' concept and some sort of 'social' or 'collaborative' concept, but we want to ask you to try to find some way to incorporate the concept that the end result is a service provider who does work for you. we're concerned that seeing the words 'friend', 'source' and some 'search' and 'social' iconography may lead the user to assume we help people find friends or build their social network - when we want them to perceive that we ultimately are about getting someone to do work for you, albeit connecting with them through your friends.
