UserVersity
UserVersity, set to launch early 2010, offers training courses in usability to entrepreneurs, and small to medium business owners. It caters to both people creating a website from scratch, as well as those wanting to improve an existing site.
Courses offered will include:
• Developing a user-centered website from scratch
• Heuristic evaluation
• Usability testing
• Card sorting
• Web analytics
• Task analysis
• Paper Prototyping
• SEM and SEO
• Focus Groups
• Benchmarking
• Social Media Marketing
We’re passionate about providing online entrepreneurs and small businesses the opportunity to improve the usability of their sites, and ultimately the experience of their customers.
No longer is usability the domain of large organizations able to spend large sums of money on usability consultants. By offering cost-effective, do-it-yourself usability solutions through our courses, businesses are empowered to take control of their own website, and maximize the potential of their site. And because you do it yourself, it comes at a fraction of the cost a usability consultancy would charge.
Any business with a website, especially:
• Existing small to medium online businesses
• New small to medium online businesses
… essentially, any small operation that would like to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and overall customer satisfaction of their website, but would find the cost of hiring a usability consultancy well beyond their reach.
UserVersity is targeting all international businesses within this target market.
The site, through its courses and offerings, caters both for those creating a user-centered website from scratch, as well as those wanting to improve their existing sites.
The site will offer a variety of learning courses, covering various aspects of usability, information architecture, web marketing, web analytics and so on, enabling online business owners to improve their site usability and customer experience, by learning techniques themselves. No prior knowledge in the field of usability or web design is required.
Aside from letting your creative juices flow, we want a logo that people will look at and remember. Something that would appeal to the target market in a fun, positive way… nothing “stuffy”, “boring” or too “corporate”. Keep in mind the site caters for for entrepreneurs and business people who are go-getters, and really want to learn, take control, and improve their online businesses.
The logo should also be:
• Professional
• Simple, clear and clean
• Competitive in the web industry
• Use a clear readable font
• Work well online/onscreen, as well as print
• Work well in both color and black and white
• Have a versions with and without the tagline "Makes Business Sense"
The logo will be used on the website, business stationery (letterhead, written training materials, email signature, business cards), on video training materials, and as a browser favicon. It is anticipated that the logo design will be trademarked in the future.
File requirements are:
• SVG (or SVGZ), EPS, & PSD
• A list of all Pantone colors used in color logo
