FORGE Service Lab (only the word “FORGE” – and with capital letters to the logo) will be a spearhead service to be ramped up, where the offering of the host ( http://www.tivit.fi) is to be directed more towards start-ups, open innovation community and to digital natives (as opposed to generation X and older target group, which has been the traditional target group - however we should NOT forget them either!).
The idea is also to find 4-6 logos with different styles. The current "description of values" in this Design Brief is made as an average, more geared to the conservative "appropriate/matter-of-fact" approach. Like Google - logo changes almost every day, or jolla.com has and had different ones in the beginning, we'd like to select 2-6 logos quite different logos from 99designs . (e.g. appropriate/matter-of-fact, child-like, futuristic, feminine, "cartoon-like", "hand-written"/joined-up writing/penmanship, gothic/heavy metal, graffiti, technologically savvy, human, "collection of pixels", "a puzzle" etc.). Please use the design style/genre that you are most comfortable with, be authentic!
Please notice the following: even if this piece of information @ http://www.forgeservicelab.fi is dry and bureaucratic, we'd like to see that the community who works with topics like digital services, big data, internet of things, data visualisation, digitalisation and citizen democracy, 3D printing, sustainable economy etc. is engaged to build FORGE Service Lab together - according to open innovation principles!
p.s. Even if "a forge" is something that blacksmiths used in their daily work in the past history, we do not wish to have here any hammers or "forging metal" -related symbolism. "The FORGE" of the digital age is totally different, so we will use forge only as a metaphor verbally , but we do not wish to emphasise the historic etymology in a logo.
