Kyabram Veterinary Clinic has been servicing this area for over 50 years and has a good reputation as a dairy practice in the Goulburn Valley. It has been known primarily as a cattle practice. There has been a recent change in partnership, with two new partners joining one existing partner. We have plans to renovate the clinic, create a website and improve the image of our practice. An important part of this is to promote the small animal side of our business. We treat a wide range of animals in our practice, including reptiles, dogs, cats, cows etc. As with most rural practices, we do need to refer very complicated cases to Melbourne for specialist procedures. Our area has suffered for a number of years with drought, but this season looks to be good with better rainfall to start the year. Our practice wants to empower our dairy and production animal clients to run profitable businesses through clinical work and consulting. It also wants to provide a friendly, caring and complete service to our companion and small animal clients. Our clinic staff work well as a team and are efficient and professional but also very caring and put in a huge effort to provide a high standard of care to all species of animals. We emphasise the best care rather than the cheapest care. We also emphasise the human-animal bond - the relationship between pet and owner.

Kyabram is a rural town of about 6000 people, with around 200 surrounding dairy farms. The town has an ageing population, and a large number of retired dairy farmers. However, it also has young families and a range of socioeconomic standards, but mostly middle to lower class. A majority of our clients are dairy farmers who have used us for many years and are loyal to our clinic. We are also targeting owners of small animals (dogs and cats) who may see our practice as focussing on cattle only. Our desired clients would be those who can afford to give their pets the care and attention they need. We have no preference for age of audience. We aim to provide the best care rather than the cheapest care, so we would aim towards the middle class clients.
Our logo is currently very boring - line of animals. We would like a logo which is simple but portrays what we do and who we are. Symbols and abstract are good. Preferably something that would look good in one colour where needed as well as multi coloured when possible. Our clinic colour tends to be blue. None of us are creative so I'm afraid I can't be specific about what we want - so be creative! Probably not wanting corny cartoon characters unless you can make it look professional. Challenge is to appeal to both our dairy business clients and our sentimental pet owners!
