We (my business partner & I) have been inspired by technology companies like 37signals and Freshbooks to create fun, simple technology application for typically boring tasks. Our company is creating apps to make payroll and scheduling of employees in small businesses an enjoyable experience.
I am fun, quirky and yet, practical. I find misplaced inappropriate comments hilarious. I prefer infographics over powerpoint slideshows because it is a one pager with a story to tell. I prefer the type of humor that makes me think rather than slapstick or anything 'Jackass' related. These are the elements of our business culture i.e. we are a little cheeky, a lot innovative and consider fun part of our value proposition. Corporate stuffy workplaces do not inspire us. Our company culture is work hard, play hard.
Once our logo is picked, we are open to contracting the designer for our website design as well. And, we will be more than happy to credit the designer with creating the logo, wherever it makes sense to do so!

We are looking for the type of logo typically designed for web 2.0 or 3.0 technology companies. The kinds with a great font (wordmark) with an integrated design (like Freshbooks with the green leaf or Tweetdeck with the twitter bird in the yellow tweetbox). Also, some of the ones we have liked best can be found at the link below that shows 30 Logo designs that actually say something....
While we do want to have fun with the logo, we also have to demonstrate a certain maturity especially since payroll is typically considered one of the most sensitive areas of any business. So please factor this in while evaluating design ideas.
The name Synapp6 was chosen because we are integrating a few elements of administration that are disjointed. Think synapse of a brain that allows connectivity between different points.
