Fun Professional Logo Needed For Flooring Business

We sell new floors and window coverings with plans to add more home improvement services. Our target audience is home owners between the ages of 30 to 80, both male & female, single, couples, families and also businesses. We take pride in being a local family owned small business. Additionally, the founder is a Vietnam Vet and it is important for us to incorporate the American flag (or essence of) in some form or fashion into the logo.

I would like the owner's face to be incorporated in a cartoon/bobble head/caricature style maybe but not opposed to other ideas. Incorporate the American Flag as a background or accent somewhere within the logo (can be abstract/stars and stripes fill). I've added a logo of our previous business name logo, and a photo of the owner. We're looking for something professional but not too corporate looking. We're a friendly family-owned small business and would like a logo that evokes a friendly and welcoming feeling.
