Good Monkey is an app that reduces food waste in restaurants. It is a fast moving marketplace that offers customers the chance to eat eco and at a discount, grabbing food that is perfectly good but might get tossed in the bin if no one buys it by closing time. It will offer supreme ease in ordering takeout. We need (1) an app icon and (2) an almost identical logo with Good Monkey written out and possible with another design element. Love the idea of working with just the typeface and the word "good" or a lowercase two-story "g." Font is just as or more important than a drawn object. Jumping out amongst a sea of other apps on a user's homescreen is critical; in this way, the Lyft app icon is an inspiration. No pastel background. Tone is simplicity and trust.

The look and feel of Good Monkey will be simple, real, iconic, rustic wood, industrial chic, food truck, urban late-night eats. Modern but not totally hipster. Leaning toward NOT having a monkey as part of the logo... but maybe you can convince me otherwise? If you go this route, the monkey should NOT look like a cartoon. He should be stylized, funky, abstract, and capable of being hung on the wall as monkey art in an farmhouse chic restaurant. Think patina and Edison bulbs, but also inclusive and not so posh as to put off a customer who would chug a beer. Bold and recognizable shape. Ideally, the shape could be used as an overlay in a photo of a restaurant scene/customers and could lend itself to a meme where we crop a food image in the shape of the logo. See attached examples.
