This logo has to fit in Toolbars, AND thumbnails (think facebook open graph). I have designed a quick sketch going after two ideas.
One with a logo with hints of a purse, and perks, however, it is hardly creative.
The other is using the initials of it to form an image, Swooping p's forming eyelashes and a smirk. However, while we hope to make women happy - this idea (that just happened by accident on a whiteboard) fits a Tween Comic Book girl more and a mother of 3.
As far as letterform goes, I like the Flow of script better where its simple and compresses well. CocaCola is a nice design sure, but if we had to make it 20px high, it will look like garbage. Visa, etc, much better.
As far as Web 2.0. I am not really a fan of forcing that design when it doesnt make sense. Perhaps Letterform Purse, with Perks over some cash (or great shapes of cash) - but we cant over complicate it and try to compress it down.
Please no generic stock vectors of purses. While if you want to incorporate an icon to the logo, it should compliment, not be redundant. Purse with cash coming out of it could maybe work, but seems a little obvious and dated (and cheesy).
A purse in front of the word purse is redundant unless its tastefully applied. Our audience is not stupid, we are not supplying pictograms for the illiiterate.
Personally I am a fan of not pictures, but hints of an object. Considering to digitally product this can take a considerable amount of time. We are fully open to Sketches for the Rough Draft/Prequalifying round. Colors do not have to be exact, but if you sketch the logo with intent of using shades of similar color, express that with black and light black markers, etc.
We intend to award a winner, and know you people will come up with something great for our site. Thanks!
