http://www.soundcloud.com/801hearts is my music page.
I'm looking for a logo that has two parts. One part is an emblem and the other part is the text logo. I want the emblem to incorporate some sort of "heart" shape. The hard part is making a Heart design that represents my music style and culture that isn't inherently feminine. Some avenues you could consider would be like a "broken heart" style. I feel like that can be made to look aggressive and represent my music style.
The Emblem can either be to the side or above the "HEARTS" text logo. It doesn't really matter because I'll be able to move it myself after the logo is made.
I'm looking for something that would look good on a festival flyer and album covers. It only needs to be black on white, or white on black colored, since it'll be widely used on multiple projects. Like a "vector", if you will.
I like bold, straightforward styles with slight variances in them that make them Unique. Something as simple as a font with a little special variation to it is enough to make the logo stand out. Mistakes people and other designers have been making are that they go to crazy, or they fail to create a memorable look. I want the logo to be easily remembered and recreated by a fan who wants to make a sign or something similar.
Some of my personal favorite artist logos:
I LOVE Pasdat's logo. Maybe because it works so well with that art style, but also because him and I are very similar artists. This is easily one of my favorite logos right now.
Hucci's logo on Bass Kitchen Branded Stage announcement. I like it because it's clean, it only takes up one line (more horizontal than it is vertical) I also like it because there's a completely separate logo built into it. If you take away the H, the U, and the I, and it's just the two CC's shape / artwork, that's a completely standalone logo which people will recognize for Hucci without needing his entire name spelled out.
Two Owl's new brand is really good too. Their logo only spans on line, it's concise, it works in any color, on any flyer, has those little unique elements that relate to the "owl" brand (the two conjoined O's) and has other little bits of flair, like the L.
I DON'T LIKE this. I don't like serifs.
I DON'T LIKE this logo. Too crazy, not sleek. Really great logo for them, just not for me.
I DON'T LIKE this logo. It's concise and has variation like I talk about, but it's definitely trying too hard and therefore looks amatuer and not timeless.
I like this. It's kinda spaced wide, and similar to mine, but I love the little glitches you can see if you look close. They're pretty cool.
I DON'T LIKE this logo. none of this. no cartoon-y looks, and nothing that doesn't position itself on a flat line. Hate the jumbled, not-straight look.
A lot of the logos on this flyer are CASH MONEY. Crankdat and Ephwurd immediately standout as logos that have that commanding simple but well made and well fit aesthetic to them.
I DON'T LIKE Cherney's logo. It's too fun, carefree, and dubsteppy. It represents him very well, but doesn't have the sleek professional look I like.
Matroda's text logo is really nice. Big, bold, sleek, a little variation. Only thing missing I'd want would be the theoretical Hearts emblem.
I want a logo that looks just as good as a black and white vector as it does completely blinged out whether with 3d rendering, neon processing, or anything else.
