I am a Registered Dietitian with a Masters in Nutrition Education, looking to start a blog and eventually a website.
Here is the "About Me" section of my blog which might help you get a better idea of what the meaning is behind "Chickpeas & Chocolate":
It’s quite simple, really. Food should be fresh and delicious. If taste and flavor are being compromised, you are doing something wrong. All too often, the words “healthy” and “diet” are distorted in the media, glorifying products that are low-calorie, low-fat, or sugar-free; this is not the answer. What should be emphasized? Flavor, taste, fresh ingredients and most importantly the origins of our food. Skip the preservatives, chemicals, additives, and the like; eat real food that you enjoy. Yes, I am a Registered Dietitian, and I ENCOURAGE you to eat chocolate. I also encourage you to take a step back and learn about where your food comes from and how it impacts the body and health of you and your families.
So eliminate the word diet from your vocabulary and don’t get wrapped up in the trends and hypes that continuously flood the media. Think simpler. Think fresher. Think realistically.
I’m a Registered Dietitian with a passion for good food and nutrition education. This blog will focus on creating and maintaining a healthy relationship with food while providing information on prenatal, postnatal and pediatric nutrition. Also check in for recipes, product finds, restaurant reviews and more. Remember, it’s not about restriction – it’s about understanding. Enjoy!
As described above, I am hoping to target mostly women with children. However, since I am just starting off this may change slightly depending on where my services are needed. Either way, I picture the design being fun, creative, yet clean and professional.
