Beginning September 1, 2018 through to August 31, 2021 CATALYST will provide employment services to 120 individuals between the age of 15 and 30 who self-identify as having a disability. In addition to these criteria, individuals will also be required to be Canadian Citizens and be ineligible for EI programs. The target breakdown for these services will be:
30% high school students – CATALYST will partner with schools and families to introduce after school employment as an option for youth with disabilities (36 individuals).
30% people currently supported by SACLA – CATALYST will be sure to support those people already receiving supports from SACLA as a priority in this project (36 individuals).
40% larger community – CATALYST will also open its doors to the larger community and offer employment supports to those who identify as living with a disability between the ages for 15 and 30. These referrals will come through marketing for public awareness, community partnerships with other services providers, government and advocacy groups (48 individuals).
Beginning September 1, 2018 through to August 31, 2021 CATALYST will provide employer support to 150 businesses and employers in the Lethbridge community to reduce barriers and build capacity and confidence to hire individuals with disabilities. These requests and referrals will come from organizational marketing for awareness and community partnerships.
