Gomarks (on the go bookmarks) is a location bookmarking service.
Using the iPhone app, users can quickly mark their current location. They can give it whatever types of information they want, can choose to add it to a guide, and can choose to share it with the world.
Guides are collections of gomarks that can be private, or public. Private guides can be used to keep track of things like fishing spots, and public guides can be used to publish and share business-specific or hobby-specific locations. Guides can be made open to allow others to add to it, making it easy to crowdsource guide development.
The goal is to create a product, but also to produce a framework which allow people to solve all kinds of problems and easily publish and share to other interested parties.
The kinds of people using the app could range from outdoors enthusiasts to people who like to crowdsource information.
