ShopTV is a shopping marketplace consumers can access through their TV. Think about wanting to buy a pair of Nike shoes and instead of turning to the web, or to your local retailer, you are able to turn on your television and use your remote control to browse and shop. The simplest way to think about the brand is to think that ShopTV is to the television what Amazon is to the web. Or think about the brand as a hip HSN. The ShopTV marketplace will include products from brands seen in commercials (think about seeing a Nike commercial and being able to buy the golf shoes featured in the commercial straight from your TV) as well as products seen in television shows (think about seeing a great piece of clothing on your favorite show and being able to buy it using your remote). The product categories and featured brands are limitless therefore the logo needs to stretch across product categories and gender.
The ShopTV television shopping experience will have a companion shopping experience on the web, mobile and tablet. The logo needs to work well on all platforms.
Also, the logo will need a companion icon that might appear on a TV show (think about how the Shazam logo or the closed caption logo appears on screen) to indicate to consumers that a show is shoppable. Similarly we’ll need a version of the logo to work on an app that could be found in a SmartTV hub (look at the apps in the Samsung SmartTV hub) or the app store accessible via an iphone or android device.
