Fivity Coffee makes DIP Coffee, our first product. DIP Coffee is the product name. It is also the first of its kind in India and will be trademarked.
DIP Coffee is a portable ready-to-brew coffee bag that delivers a consistent cafe-quality black coffee on the go. The coffee is sourced from select premium Indian coffee estate which grows 100% Arabica beans with care.
CONTEXT OF BRAND
FIVITY'S DIP COFFEE is a premium product. It costs a minimum $1 per sachet, which makes one cup of coffee. It needs to look modestly premium. At the other end of the spectrum are luxury ayurvedic brands which demand $100 for 40gms of a cosmetic product. This is nothing that India has seen before. Yet, there is a sense of familiarity because tea-bags in India are huge. Everyone buys it, uses it, and at places where we want to go. There are equally expensive tea bags which command a premium brand. We need something similar but not uptight, and we have to be contemporary. This product is consumed by modern youthful Indians.
India is not a big coffee consumer. Chai, or tea as it literally means, is what drives India. However, there is a cultural shift happening. Indians, who are well travelled have a taste and demand for good coffee. These people skew older, 30-55, and demand a cup of coffee similar to their America experience/Starbucks but dont find any local cafes serving it or nice machine deliver what they crave. They are also constantly on the move doing business work. The younger generation (15-29) are finding themselves reaching out for a cup of freshly brewed for the social status.
The dynamic of coffee in India is changing fast. Like its neighbours which are also predominantly tea drinking, and have now become a major freshly brewed coffee consumer, India is seeing an upsurge in the adoption of freshly brewed coffee. Our product makes freshly brewed coffee available wherever a "hipster cafe" can't reach them, airlines, hotel in-room beverage kits, Small business offices, etc.
Indian coffee is unique. It is shade-grown and the best kind of shade grown with a lot of bio-diversity around which gives the coffee its unique flavours naturally.
I had a successful design in tech job in San Francisco for four years. I fell for the idea of travelling and doing something useful to the motherland, India, which is what brought me here. I have travelled the world, and since the last year, thoroughly India. I've resolved to solve the availablility of fresh brewed Indian Origin coffee.
