"S.J. Williams and Associates, LLC" a.k.a. "Williams Legal"
This firm is being formed secondary to a split between me and my law partner. Many clients dealt with him and not me, so I need something memorable in my firm mark because my hard work ethic alone will not grow the firm. I want people to remember my card and logo even if they can't remember my face.
My practice is in the areas of business law, civil litigation, IRS disputes, white collar criminal defense, auto accidents, and divorces and wills.
The firm is located just outside of Washington, DC which means the image of success is important. My firm owns the building so a logo icon will be placed on it, but the full business name cannot.
I need a new brand - brand me!!
Logo will appear in a very public print campaign to the general public to maintain/ repair image. We will be sending pieces 1) to existing clients to show we are strong and secure, 2) to new prospective clients via brochures and direct mail, and 3) potentially placed on our building to emphasize continued presence in the community.
Some of the clients were my former firm's, but don't necessarily know me so I have an inroads but need to make a lasting first impression. As noted above, we take care of businesses and business people, and the problems that they get in to. Our clients tend to be 30-50 y.o. entrepreneurs and business people, so they are young but progressive and intelligent.
As referenced, this is a new venture based on a split of the former firm. Because of some of the negativity surrounding the separation, I want no more than passing reference to the old logo (globe with scales). The old globe and scale were burgundy. That color can be still be used, but be aware I'm not really feeling them right now. Our firm tag line "Private Lawyers. Trial Lawyers." which I would like to keep. And since I would like to put the mark on the building, i do need some type of graphic (but nothing cartoonish). Playing with the letters - "SJW" or "SJWA" or "W" or "WL" (Williams Legal) are all fine. I am not a fan of the lady of justice - especially if she blind or blindfolded! I want to avoid scales and gavels unless they are interesting.
I will be very active and prompt in getting you feedback. There is also future work for the designer as we have a legal issues radio talk show and are currently being courted to do a cable tv show. Gonna need some tee shirts, etc soon.
Clean, creative, modern & memorable is the ticket!!
