This new Seattle bed & breakfast offers four guest rooms in a Craftsman-style house in one of the city's walkable neighborhoods. It will attract guests who appreciate quality, comfort, and maybe a surprise or two. We strive to be kind of an urban base camp for travelers visiting on their own, or coming to see friends and family who live here.
While the property is an older home, there will be no doilies and few precious antiques for guests to worry about breaking. Their stay is about modern conveniences and current Seattle style. Innkeepers are well traveled and relatively intelligent, normal people, yet enjoy slightly off-beat pursuits. We will be as friendly or as hands-off as guests like -- providing conversation, directions, restaurant and sightseeing suggestions, or just leaving them to come and go as they please if that's all they want.
The name -- 9 Cranes Inn -- comes from a piece of art that will grace the inn's living room, and is reinforced by the many positive concepts that cranes symbolize in varied cultures. The particular artwork is a Chinese embroidery textile of nine red-crowned cranes all facing one another (see attached file). We do NOT necessarily expect the logo to mirror this.
